Dear Lost Friend

Dear lost friend,
I have always read fables,
Stories that begin with 'Once upon a time',
But never had I wondered,
I had to express our story with a phrase like that

We were not incomplete without each other,
Neither did we promise each other
A relationship that will last forever,
But, sure, we did make a beautiful pair

Dear lost friend,
Neither you nor had I planned such an end ,
But circumstances changed, life happened,
And we were forced into a space filled with despair , regret and angst

We didn't make vows of love, neither were we lovers ,
But,we sure did find solace in each other's keep

Dear lost friend
I am happy with my life and I assume you will be with yours,
We will excel, grow, live , love
But a part in us will always make us feel
The absence of the other

Dear lost friend
I doubt whether I could love you as I used to,
Whether I could embrace those very moments that used to bind us,
But you will be there
In parts where I laughed with you,
Where I shed tears for you
The very "us" that turned away from its whole, will always remain in parts...
I don't know why ,I don't know how
But you will always be there...
